Jo has studied West African drumming with many different teachers, both in England and in Senegal. She has spent a number of years running workshops for all ages in schools and for festivals, community events and parties, using techniques and rhythms based on the traditions of West Africa.
Jo has often worked in collaboration with Jean Quaife africandancercise.co.uk, providing a fantastic combination of energetic drumming and dance.
Jo is currently focusing on developing her Spoons Workshops and is less available for the drumming workshops. However, do still get in touch if you're looking for smaller drumming group projects or advice.
Jo is a really nice person and teaches us fun rhythms and songs.
Jo had words that went with the rhythms so if you forgot the rhythm you could remember the words.
